Although I came from a teaching background, my husband started talking about us homeschooling our children while I was pregnant with our first child. Needless to say he convinced me, and we are now in our fourth year of homeschooling our eight year old boy, Hawkeye, with two little tag-alongs, nearly five year old boy-girl twins, Seal Pup and Buttercup.
Although this blog is primarily for record keeping and end of year evaluations, I thought it would be fun to give a glimpse into our super-eclectic homeschooling approach. A little bit Charlotte Mason, a dash of Waldorf, a whole lot of Unschooling, and we top everything off with whatever is working for us in the right now.
A quick side note; although I am a trained Montessori teacher, I make no claims to be a homeschooling aficionado, and even less to be an expert in any home education methodology. I am a firm believer in using what works for my family and I, and leaving what does not, guilt-free. It's how we roll!
